St Mary Federation

Governors
The St Mary Federation Governing Body consists of 16 Governors. They are all volunteers from the local communities who work to support and challenge the school to drive school improvement. The usual term of office is four years. Governors attend a variety of training courses run by Norfolk County Council to help them in their governing role.

Together with the Headteacher and senior leaders, Governors set the future direction of the school through the School Improvement & Development Plan (SIDP). Their monitoring role is carried out through various committees and subject responsibilities. They make decisions collectively on matters such as performance management, policies and finance. Governors report on the school’s achievements and respond to inspection recommendations. They hear appeals from pupils and staff and consider complaints.

In addition to Full Governing Board meetings there are two committees that meet once each half term:
  • Standards, Values and Curriculum committee
  • Finance, Personnel and Premises committee
  • All those who sit on the Governing Board and attend these meetings have full voting rights

Jane Hill is our Clerk.
